PHILLY SHOWCASE WEEKEND SET TO BEGIN NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT

Schedule Set for Philly Showcase Friday Night Session at St. Joseph’s University to Benefit the NTAF Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund in honor of Logan Schweiter

The 2011 Philly Boys Showcase will take place the weekend of November 18-20, 2011, and will begin Friday, November 18 with a special doubleheader of games at St. Joseph’s University. All proceeds from this night will be donated to the NTAF fund in honor of local youth lacrosse player Logan Schweiter to assist with some of Logan’s many uninsured injury-related expenses. Twelve-year-old Logan nearly drowned when trapped before being rescued from floodwaters near his Wayne, PA home last July. Logan attends St. Katherine’s of Siena School in Wayne and is an enthusiastic rising lacrosse player in the Conestoga Youth Lacrosse (CYLAX) program.

The schedule for next Friday, November 18 at St. Joseph’s Finnesey Field is:

• 6pm, Gates open at St. Joseph’s University
• 7pm, HEADstrong v. Mesa Fresh 2013, Finnesey Field
• 8pm, Dukes L.C. v. Leading Edge, Finnesey Field

Said Taylor Wray, Men’s Lacrosse Coach at St. Joseph’s University, “We are happy to partner with NXT sports to host this event.  Service and assisting those in need are core components of the University’s mission, and St. Joe’s is proud to assist in raising money for an important organization like NTAF and to support Philadelphia-area lacrosse.”

The Friday night event is open to all college coaches and to the public.  The requested admission donation of $5 goes in full towards the NTAF Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund in honor of Logan Schweiter.  There will also be a concessions stand with all proceeds going to NTAF.  Along with Taylor Wray, NXT Sports wishes to thank St. Joseph’s University and in particular St. Joseph’s Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach Dan Keating for working to make this event possible.
